GAJAPATI:Panchayatiraj Divas with 104th Birthday of Legend Biju Patnaik observed at Paralakhemundi which is presided by the President of Zilla Parishad.
Among others Collector Gajapati Anupam Saha,ZP Vice President R.Vijay Kumar,Sub-Collector Sangram Sekhar Panda,Bhagyalaxmi Nayak,Bichitrananda Bebarta,Lingaraj Das,Addl Sub-Collector Seshdev Mishra,DPO Basant Kumar Patra graced on the occasion.
Collector Mr.Saha valued Legend fighter Biju Babu for his unique contributions of development of Odisha on various field. Being a Pilot who could get support from Late Paralakhemundi Maharaja Sj.Krushna Chandra Gajapati for Pilot Training could keep his name & fame in the annals of international figure rewarded as Bhumiputra by Indonesia government. Subsequently his dynamic role to stake Odisha among those fiddled figure state of establishing first REC at Rourkela and Burla Engineering College to pave for Techies. An iron man who could make all dare devil ingredients of development with his own decision which still a rare feature.
Other Guests lauded Biju Patnaik charismatic passions for grassroots democracy & extolled unique power to Panchayatiraj representatives as people’s representatives & Devolution of Power. Secondly 73rd Constitution Amendment opened another feather of women for 33% reservation that too Odisha chased to extend upto 50% for them. That brought not only empowerment among women but all decision making roles too. Inspiration to SHG Members another scope for women’s identity & livelihood could be strengthened.
Sub-Collector Mr.Panda conveyed vote of thanks. District Coordinator of MGNREGA presented through power points on various achievements of Gajapati,with a video to bring smile among grassroots to drudge past their tragedy & tears to join their mainstream livings. All district officials,PRI Members, SHG Members & citizens attended the occasion.At Gumma block Panchayat Iran Divas organized where Natabar Garada BDO,Gajendra Gamanga Block Chairman of Gumma, Asst.Engineer Manash Maharana,CDPO Anitarani Patnaik garnered on the day’s memoirs & paid Tribute to Biju Patnaik.Upendra Macho coordinated the meeting.
