AFTER END OF RELAXATION BIDS SOUGHT FOR PROPER IMPLEMENTATION OF TRAFFIC RULES

Berhampur:After the end of six-month relaxation period, stricter restrictions under the new Motor Vehicles Act began in Berhampur  on today.

While commuters have been blatantly defying rules in Berhampur city SP Pinak Mishra has said that stringent action will be taken against commuters for flouting rules.

Pinak Mishra SP informed that CCTV cameras have been installed at every location to keep a track on violators and e-challans will be issued against the registration numbers.

Berhampur scribes are so alerted and co-operative towards police instantly  they bringing the defying matters to the knowledge of S.P over phone.

Complimenting to the scribes SP,Mishra told  in his reciprocal dialogue,” If any negligence found by police in their respective duty the departmental action may imposed without any compromise”.

Saturday the members of Team Clean City,Berhampur extended their support to Berhampur Police at different traffic posts in city to make aware the commuters to respect and abide the new Motor Vehicle act as we have already enjoyed six month relaxation by the government to make educate ourselves. The spectaculars’ of the city have appreciate the Clean City activity.

Think before hitting the roads at full throttle as stricter enforcement of traffic rules under the provisions of new Motor Vehicles Act resumed again in Odisha from today.

Several enforcing authorities including RTO, Berhampur Police had earlier made it clear that major traffic violations will attract hefty fines under the provisions of the new Motor Vehicles Act.

From a government notification by the The State Transport Authority, Odisha asked Collectors, SPs and DCPs (Traffic) to enforce road safety rules across the State from 1st March,2020.

Transport Commissioner directed the officials to carry out strict enforcement against dangerous life threatening road safety violations.

The officials have been asked to check drunken driving, driving at a speed exceeding the specified limit (over speeding), red light jumping, driving against flow of traffic, using mobile while driving, dangerous driving, triple riding on two-wheeler, helmetless driving, not wearing seat belt and overloading.

Drunken driving – Rs 10,000

Jumping red light – Rs 5000

Triple riding on two-wheeler – Rs 1000
