Uttam Nayak,Odishabarta.

Koraput district superintendent of police Barun Guntapalli has urged the public not to boycott the polls or to post banners or banners of Maoists spreading any other message.  “In the run-up to the panchayat elections in the district from May 16 to 24, the panchayat elections will be held in the Koraput police parade ground today,” he said.  He encouraged ordinary people as well to take part in solving this great task: “One of the things you and other people can do is keep up the pressure … there are going to be some difficult decisions for government”.  In Kotia Panchayat, more police have been deployed to conduct the elections free and fair, he said.  Out of a total of 2,973 booths in the district, about 600 are sensitive, with one police constable deployed and village guards and home guards deployed at other booths.
