RAKSHAK TRAINING CAMP INAUGURATED

Koraput, Nov 24:A joint training camp has been inaugurated at the local Skills Development Center in collaboration with the state transport department and the Odisha state branch of the Indian Red Cross Society.  The function was attended by District Magistrate Abdal M Akhtar as the Chief Guest while Bijay Kumar Nayak, Joint Transport Commissioner, Odisha Road Safety, Utkal Keshari Das, Additional Superintendent of Police, among others were present on the occasion.  The trainees discussed how to provide emergency medical care to the victims of accidents or tragic road accidents on the national highways and how to cooperate and help the roadsides, sheds and shopkeepers.  An incentive of Rs 2,000 will be provided by the Department of Transportation in a bid to boost the moral of the people who assist in the accident and to motivate everyone to protect the cause.  It was decided to train 300 trainers from 30 districts of the state and train 30,000 volunteers from the 30 districts.
