5 Dead, 40 Injured as Tourist Bus Overturns in Nayagarh’s Daspalla

Berhampur,( 28/03/2026):At least five persons, including four women, killed and 40 others injured man of them critically admitted in hospital.
when a tourist bus carrying 60 pilgrims from Berhahampur to harisankar in Bolangir district overturned on the Hanuman Ghati road at Daspalla,in Odisha’s Nayagarh district in the early hours of Saturday (March 28, 2026), police said. The accident took place around 2 a.m.
The impact of the crash was severe, with several passengers thrown out of the vehicle and over 10 people trapped under the mangled bus.
On receiving information, police teams along with fire services and emergency personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Gas cutters were used to extricate those trapped.
The injured were first taken to the Daspalla Community Health Centre. Around 15 critically injured persons have been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
