5 arrested in Berhampur bomb hurling case

Berhampur: Bada Bazar Police on Friday arrested five persons in connection with the bomb hurling incident here in city. Two live hand bomb and Police seized one iron sword from theri possession.
According to a Senior Police Officer On 16.08.2023, a criminal case was registered against persons who threw bombs in Hardakandi area. Persons involved in this crime were identified During the investigation, remnants of two exploded hand bombs were seized from the spot.
The noted accused persons were arrested and two live bombs hand bombs and one sword has been recovered and seized from them.
The motive behind this crime is previous rivalry and enmity between accused Raja Nayak and Hina Sethi of Gramadevati Street Badabazar. Previously Badabazar PS case no. 84/2022 was registered, and both the above accused persons were arrestedin that case as well.
On 12.08.2023 night the other associates of Hina Sethi hurled a hand bomb on the house of Raja Nayak and house of Prasant @ Muna Nayak of Jagabandhu Sahi to terrorise accused Raja Nayak and his associates. In that connection Badabazar PS Case No. 292 Dtd.12.08.2023 U/s 341/294/506/34 IPC/R.W Sec. 3/4 ES Act was registered and investigated nicely by the team of Bada Bazar Police lead by Inspector-in-Charge,Mr.Prashant Bhupati.
The involved accused persons 1. Santosh Sahu @ Kamlesh (21), 2. Balia Nayak (23) both of Jagabandhu Sahi and 3. Rosan Khatei (21) of 1st Gate, Badabazar were arrested on 16.8.2023 and forwarded. In both the cases a team of officers have been formed for the arrest of other absconding accused persons.
Notably, the accused persons were earlier arrested by Badabazar Police on dated. 18.09.2021 U/s-399/402 IPC/ R.W. Sec- 27 Arms Act/4 & 5 E.S. Act.case , agaisnt another case dated 20.04.2022 U/s-341/323/324/325/ 506/307/34 IPC/ R.W. Sec- 27 Arms Act. And dated.. 26.02.2023 U/s-341/294/506/34 IPC.
