World Environment Day Celebrated at NTPC Northern Region HQ
Lucknow : NTPC Northern Region HQ celebrated World Environment Day with enthusiasm, based on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution Globally” The event highlighted NTPC’s commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.
On this occasion,Shri N.S. Rao, RED (North), administered the Environment Day pledge in the presence of Smt. Vijaya Rao, President, Uttara Club; Shri K.K. Hota, CEO, NUGEL; Smt. Samiran Sinha Ray, Regional Head HR, Smt. Sangita Singha Ray, Vice President, Uttara Club other senior officials and employees.
As part of the celebration ,tree saplings were planted at office premises, led by RED (North), promoting afforestation & greenery.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Rao said ,“This year’s theme is highly relevant. While tree plantation efforts have increased, the use of plastic continues due to a lack of self-discipline and awareness. We should consciously say no to single-use plastics to support sustainable practices both at the workplace and in our personal lives.
During the program, Sh. Vipul Srivastava, AGM (Envt Mgmt/OS), highlighted the significance of the day. The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from employees, reflecting a strong commitment to environmental protection.
