Ganjam,(Hinjilicut):The Hinjilicut police in receipt of credible information on 30.07.2023, regarding a dead body has been buried on the personal graveyard.

The body of a woman was found buried near a cremation ground in Hinjilicut area of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

On this, on the written report of E.O. S.I. Sidhartha Sankar Jena of Hinjili Police station. instant case has been registered vide the  case No-551, dated.30/07/23,u/s 302/201 IPC , and investigated into.

The dead body of deceased was identified as Barsharani Purohit, D/o Hari Narayan Purohit, village- Jaya Nagar, Patapur. Investigation is going on.

It is being suspected that someone might have killed the woman, and buried her body to destroy the evidence.

“It was found that the woman’s body had been covered with salt. The miscreants might have used salt for quick decomposition of the body,” said a local.

 According to   few residents of Mahulapalli under Hinjilicut police limits in Ganjam spotted a freshly-created mound near the village cremation ground.

Suspecting something unpleasant, they informed the incident to the local Sarpanch and Panchayat Samiti member.

While the body of an unidentified woman was found buried when the villagers cleared the mound in the presence of SDPO,Aska,PO) Umashankar Singh, Kukudakhandi Additional Tehsildar Swagatika Rath and Hinjilicut police IIC Abhimanyu Das.

Today due to sincere effort of Hinjilicut Police led by Inspector in Charge Abhimanyu Das which time to time monitored by SP,Ganjam,Jaggmohan Meena it ascertained during enquiry, the disinterred one female dead body from the burial having multiple head injury.

After ground zero investigation Instantly Police have seized the body and sent it for post-mortem and awaited for FMT report to know the exact reason behind her death.

However, today the Hinjili Police able arrest the accused involved in such heinous murder. They are indentified as; Santosh Behera(30). S/o Rama Chandra Behera, village-Gurunthi Kumbhar Sahi, PS- Nimakhandi, Dist:Ganjam and Susanta Behera(28). S/o Rama Chandra Behera, village-Gurunthi Kumbhar Sahi, PS- Nimakhandi, Dist:Ganjam and seized  One crowbar, One spade, One yellow colour sack, One red & balack colour Hero Honda Passion Pro motor cycle bearing Regd.No.OR-07-R-5245. (5) One passenger Auto bearing Regd. No.OD-07-D-5131, One weapon of offence i.e. one hammer, One light blue colour broken mobile and Wearing apparels of the deceased.

Investigation is going on.
