Winter garments distribution to tribals by Shanti Foundation

Rayagada,(Badal Tah) : In the context of chilling cold and poverty in tribal villages of Rayagada, blankets, garments and clothes were distributed last Friday on behalf of Shanti Foundation in remote tribal areas of Kashipur Block. Winter clothes were distributed by the foundation to the poor people living in villages due to severe winter in Kashipur region. The program was organized in Kanjangmandi, a remote tribal village of Kashipur block, and around 70 families were distributed new blankets, sarees, clothes for men and women and some toys for children.

Social workers Sanjay Parida, Prafulla Rautray and Lakshmi Priya Naik from Bhubaneswar attended the program on behalf of Shanti Foundation. Additional Superintendent of Police Bishnu Patra, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Bidulata Huika, RSS pracharak Deepak Raut, President of Rayagada District Journalists Association were the guests. Dr. Badal Kumar Tah, Journalist Rabindra Patkhandal, Shyam Kumar Das, Bijay Kumar Das were the volunteers who participated. Shanti Foundation thanked all the guests and the villagers for their cooperation. The team at last paid a visit to the nearby Shiva temple to see an ancient food security system in a cave propounded by earlier kings.
