Berhampur : The biennial Thakurani Yatra-2025 here already approached from April 3rd which will continue upto April 28th .
Keeping in view of law and order adequate police arrangements needed to avoid any mishap.
In regards to tele-communication relationship in between public and police that telephone calls to the landlines, CUG mobile are not being responded by the responsible officer at police stations which is alleged by the public, senior citizens.
Odishabarta highlighted in this regards to stream linings the habit and to educate more effective while a citizen calling the call should be attended by the police stations ; Ofcourse the police officer not bound to attend the Calls if anybody calling to their personal mobile number because they loves Apple handsets as their status symbol B’cuz, the caller may not be matching to his post and position or equivalent.
During the year 2023 Berhampur police district deployed six platoons of police force at major prime location of Municipal area.Many police officers including one ASP, DSP, city SDPO, Inspector-in-charges of all police stations under Mahanagar,Lady police, district intelligence bureau, crime control special squad,frequent mobility of PCR vans,24X7 control room with VHF were deployed and assigned including Law and Order squad, 24X7 Police control room with VHF CCTV arrangement to keep the close I-Con on movement of miscreants and habitual anti-socials, (recent released from Jail, number of pending cases at different police stations.
Notably, The past experience of the festive lakhs of people witness not only Ganjam district from every corner of the state from Day one the Ghata Parikrama (soul procession) of Maa Budhi Thakurani till end.
This year the public expectation from police to ensure public safety, especially snatching from women, theft at houses,business establishments etc. to be watchful at bus stand(stop), railway station all entry and exit points into the city mainly at night hours and to prevent crimes.
The senior citizens’ demand the frequent movement of PCR vehicles across the Mahanagar bazaar to bazaar, nagar to nagar, vihar to vihar.People gossip the city crime has been increased last couple of months like theft attempt at locked houses, mobile thefts, bike thefts, group clash among youths Berhampur city police needs to intensify night patrolling drive which is barely essential because lakhs of the people from city and rural while enjoying the Thakurani Yatra with family based on the opportunity the anti-social elements are more active in search to commit their profitable crimes.
This night domination exercise is mainly focused on sensation the isolated and outskirts areas where youngsters and criminals gather and resort to drinking alcohol and ganja consumption. The main objective of this night patrolling is to identify anti-social elements.
Today in the heart of Berhampur Mahanagar Police have 5 major sensitive Police stations i.e. Gosaninuagaon, Baidyanathpur, Berhampur Town,Bada Bazar and Law & Orders so, for the random patrolling its difficult for their part to cover entire area because of some police stations limit are big and they have only one vehicle as a result its very difficult task for them to cover to prevent crimes, and reduce the opportunities for the commission of crimes.
