WEBINAR ON IMPORTANCE OF NATIONAL BLOOD DONATION DAY

KORAPUT,(Sunabeda):On the occasion of National Blood Donation Day-2020, District Blood Donors & Motivators Forum, Koraput has organized a webinar on the topic” Importance of National Blood Donation Day”. Advisers of the Forum Dr. Chittaranjan Mishra, Dr.Uma Shankar Prasad Patra, Manoj Kumar Acharya and senior office bearer Snigdharani Mishra and Shaheda Parween highlighted the importance and observance of National Blood Donation Day in our country and need of safe blood in the life of an individual. They also added that,” 1st October is celebrated as the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day in India to recognise and commemorate the immense contribution made by Dr Jai Gopal Jolly on his birthday. Dr JG Jolly was the founder of the Blood Bank Society, Chandigarh, founder President of the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohaematology and made significant contributions to the development of Blood programme in India”.
President of DBDMF, Koraput, G.Sanjeev Kumar appreciated the efforts of the members of DBDMF in organizing various mobile blood donation camps at different places of Koraput during COVID-19 period and helping the needy patients. He also expressed his thankfulness to all the voluntary blood donors for their benevolent service towards the society. Treasurer of DBDMF Shaik Ibrahim coordinated the programme while most of the members have joined the webinar.
