‘We can Manage Now’, Naveen Patnaik;Financial assistance from Centre for Yaas

Bhubaneswar:As a true statesman, Hon’ble CM of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik in his message said, Odisha doesn’t require any financial assistance from the centre in urgency; rather central govt. should take care of the current pandemic. This statement comes when the Hon’ be PM, Narendra Modi had visited Odisha and west Bengal today to have a review for the damage occurred because of the cyclonic storm, Yaas. PM had visited the state and had aerial view of the affected sites of Odisha. Yaas had affected the costal districts like Balasore, Bhadrak and some parts other districts. Odisha has been managing this natural calamity with all expertise and the CM of Odisha has that proficiency to face any challenges of this type. Hon’ble PM, Narendra Modi had done a review meeting to access the damage and regarding financial assistance related subjects where the team headed by Naveen Patanik had request the PM for a long term infrastructure solution to fight cyclones in the state. Naveen Patnaik also demanded disaster resilient power assistance and coastal protection with storm resilient coastal protection and storm surge resilient embankments. By doing underground cabling for power system with modern technology can withstand power supply uninterrupted during cyclone time.
Odisha like every time successively chased the cyclonic storm Yaas and handled the situation thoughtfully where casualties rate were negligible. Moreover the statement by CM has inspired the people of Odisha and many say that they feel proud of their CM for this approach. Naveenji thanked Hon’be PM for his visit to assess the damage done and officers present in the meeting have assured to submit the damage assessment report in seven days time. This meeting was also joined by the Union Minister Pratap Sarangi and Dharmenra Pradhan and post the meeting Pratap Sarangi said, the Hon’ble PM will announce the package very soon.
