Rayagada, July 27: An eye check-up camp was organized at Pitesh village in the Kolnara block by JK Paper Mill(JKPM), JKPur, in collaboration with LV Prasad Eye Institute(LVPEI). A total of 59 people underwent eye examinations during the camp. Among them, 9 were identified with cataract, 5 with pterygium and 25 with refractive errors (vision problems). In the first phase, 14 patients were referred to LVPEI for surgical treatment. Last Saturday, 25 people, with refractive errors, were provided with spectacles. In the next phase, patients who underwent surgery will also receive spectacles.
Jagadish Kondagori, Vision Technician, LVPEI , Pitamahal, checked up the patients. This program was coordinated by Harihar Khamari, senior officer of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department of JKPM. The initiative by JKPM has been appreciated by the residents of Pitesh village.
