VIRAL VIDEO – LADY OFFICER “USED VERBAL WORDS” AT MIGRANT WORKERS (?)

Balasore: As Odia migrants are swarming in to the state amid COVID-19 lockdown, a video featuring Block Development Officer in Baliapal of Balasore district while she was allegedly hurling abuse to some returnees surfaced on social media platforms.
As per reports, the accused official, Chhabirani Sahoo, was abusive towards the returnees who arrived from Thangarh of Gujarat in Balasore by a ‘Shramik Special’ train at around 11 am on Wednesday. While the migrants were welcomed at the railway station, they were sent in a bus to Baliapal. The migrant workers reached in front of the Baliapal block office at around 1 pm.
However, after an initial wait, when the returnees asked for a glass of water, they were denied of it and the accused BDO allegedly started being abusive (?).
On the other hand, the official has denied such allegations stating them to be malicious plans to defame her position. She also stated that the migrants allegedly initiated the misbehavior irked over which she retaliated and told to a TV Correspondent if necessary “I shall go for legal action”.
