Vigilance traces Huge Properties from Deputy Ranger in Balangir

On the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets by Sri Keshaba Kishor Nayak, Deputy Ranger
Sambalpur:Vigilance sleuths have traced properties worth Rs 2.02 crore of Keshaba Kishor Nayak, the Deputy Ranger of Balangir Forest Division.
Vigilance sleuths on Thursday have conducted raids at five locations including the office of Nayakon allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income.
Nayak was found in possession of assets worth Rs 2.02 crore including a three storied building worth Rs 39.35 lakh in Balangir Town, one double storied building at Balangir having a cost of Rs 60.42 lakh, 16 plots in Balangir and Sonepur worth Rs 28.13 lakh, deposits in post offices and banks worth Rs 29.63 lakh and investment to the tune of Rs 16.03 lakh in insurance policies.
Vigilance sleuths said that the search process is still continuing. “The simultaneous searches were conducted on the basis of a court warrant and further investigation in the case is continuing. We are ascertaining the actual income of the officials,” said a vigilance official. He also said that the income of the official would be calculated to ascertain the gap between the cost of assets and actual income.

Immovable assets like one triple storey building, one double storey building, one single storey building and 16 nos. of plots (at Bolangir and Subarnapur district) worth of Rs. 1,38,93,929/-Besides the above, movable assets like, costly household articles, furniture, electrical/electronic gadgets, gold and silver ornaments, one car, 2 nos. of Motor Cycle, worth Rs.17,46,788.00 deposits in different Banks Rs.29,63,888.00 Hard Cash of Rs. 15,790.00 etc. have been detected. The total movable and immovable assets so far detected during house search is calculated at Rs. 1,86,20,395.00 (One Crore eighty six Lakhs twenty thousand three hundred and ninety five) only approximately. The documents relating to assets, income and expenditure taken charge during house search are under scrutiny.
