“Ugadi” Celebration marks a community synthesis at Rayagada

Rayagada (Badal Tah): Saipriya Walkers Club,Rayagada celebrated the UGADI programme, a cultural event marking Telugu New Year in Andhra Pradesh & Tenengana state, near Railway Coach Restaurant at Railway Station Road, Rayagada under the leadership of Wr Jayakrushna Pradhan.
 
A meeting was organized with a puja and yagna. Amitabh Singha, Divisional Railway Manager(DRM), East Coast Railway was the chief guest & Mahesh Patnaik, Municipality Chairman, Eng. Rajendra Kumar, Wr Satyabdi Pati, Chief Area Cordinator of Walker International and Dr Badal kumar Tah were the guests of honor. Dr. Baburao Mohanty was the Chief Speaker and Wr Adv. Subash Behera, former president and advisor of Saipriya Walkers Club. Behera delivered the welcome speech and introduced the guests. Wr K. Dharmaraju moderated the entire event. Chief Guest Singhal and other guests of honour expressed about the context of this day in the life of Hindus and why it it is called Hindu Naba Varsa.
Devaraj Panda, Chief Advisor, V. Sambha Murthy, PRO, Jolly Wr. K. Baikuntha Rao along  with all other club’s Presidents of Walker Clubs of Rayagada, civil servants, representatives of Lions Clubs namely Nagavali Lions Club, Members of Rayagada Gayatri Parivar- Smt. Sabita Mishra, Shri Sudhir Mishra and others joined and wished the well-being of all the communities of the region. Dr D K Mohanty spoke vividly about this festive occasion.

 
Rayagada Kalinga Vaishya Sangh President Kinthali Amar Nath, Secretary T. Jayaram and President of Uma Maheshwar Pentho Appal Raju and Secretary L. Srinivas Rao, Shri Padman Choudhury, President of Zilla Soudhiko Seva Sangh, Rayagada and Newly elected body of Bar Association, Rayagada, President Adv. Devi Prasad Patnaik, General Secretary Adv. Mangala Murthy Beuria spoke on the occasion. At last, Ladi Chandra Mouli tendered vote of thanks.
 
The sponsor of this event M/s  S. V. Events proprietor S. Venkat Rao and his family members were felicitated by the guests. The event culminated with distribution of prasadam like Pulihara, watermelon and Butter Milk among more than 3000 people at Junction of Rayagada Railway Station.
 
Hindu New Year was also celebrated by Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangha at Saraswati Sishu Mandir with cultural programmes by school children. While Bidya Bhusan Panda, Nagar Karyabaha introduced the guests & moderated the event, Prama Jain-Zilla Karjyabaha as Chief Guest, Murali Bhai as Chief Speaker, Mangelal Jain-President of Saraswati Sishu Mandir adored the dais. Telugu New Year Ugadi was also celebrated with pomp & ceremony by two competing groups led by Truck Union President Yalla Konda Babu, a senior leader of District BJP & N. Bhaskar Rao, District BJD President. Govt bureaucrats kept away from these events though their names cropped up in the invitation cards distributed by both these groups. These people led events kept almost all the communities like Telugu, Odia & advasis united through this cultural extravaganza.
