UAIL PAVES WAY FOR LOCAL WOMEN UPLIFTMENT THROUGH JOB DRIVE

Rayagada, October 8: As a part of its relentless pursuits of providing skilled employment to the young women of peripheral villages and making them self-reliant, Utkal Alumina International Limited(UAIL), a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries limited of Aditya Birla Group has organized a two-day Job drive with ABFRL (Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited) under its banner of Utkal CSR. UAIL invited ABFRL team to conduct the recruitment drive for the larger interest of the community to engage the unemployed youth girls of the region.

The job drive was successfully conducted during last Wednesday & Thursday which drew nearly 800 girls from 60 surrounding villages of UAIL. They had actively participated and shown utmost enthusiasm in the event. All the participants were oriented about the eligibility criteria, interview process, job profile and various facilities to be provided at ABFRL. Out of the total participants, around 100 girls got selected in the process. These selected candidates will be engaged in ABFRL Bangalore.

The participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to UAIL for providing an employment chance to even the below-par qualified women in the remotest realms of Odisha. Also, the women were amazed as this being their first exposure to the interview process.  The women said that they got a basic idea of positive attributes or characteristics that render one qualified for the job.

District Employment Officer of Rayagada– Mr. R.P Tete, Dr. Lopamudra Priyadarsini, Head CSR, CR & Sustainability UAIL, Mr. Brajabidhu Chhatoi – Head HR, ABFRL BBSR, Mr. Bipin Bihari Sahu – Officer Skill development, ABFRL shared the dais in the inaugural session. The unit head of UAIL, Mr. Beig thanked the participants for their pro-activeness in this Job Drive. He stated that these drives would stand as a testimony to UAIL’s firm commitment to bring a notable change in the lives of people around the periphery through providing a sustainable source of livelihood to the needy. He also thanked the CSR department and ABFRL team for successfully organizing the event.
