Two Were Apprehended by STF for Illegally Transporting the Cattle

Bhubaneswar:On the basis of reliable information, a team of STF conducted raid with the help of Jajpur District Police on the intervening night of 19/20.11.2022 at Sahapur Hat Padia under Panikoili Police Station jurisdiction Dist. Jajpur regarding illegal and inhuman transportation of cattle to West Bengal, as a result of which two accused namely Kamar Siyajuddin Khan S/O Shyamsudhin Khan , Vill: Gujidadra, PS: Bhadrak Rural, Dist: Bhadrak and Mohammed Karim S/O Md. Umar Alli , Vill: Kantabania, PS: Bhadrak Town, Dist: Bhadrak were apprehended while illegally and inhumanly transporting the cattle.
During search 155 number of Cattles, one 16 Wheeler Truck, Cash of Rs. 34,500/- and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession. The accused persons could not produce any authority in support of transportation of such cattle, for which they have been detained and handed over to Panikoili PS for necessary legal action. The seized cattle were shifted to nearest cattle shed (GOSALA) at Jajpur Road for their care and safety. A case has been registered at Panikoili Police Station Dist. Jajpur , which refers to Panikoili Police Station Case No. 276 dated 20.11.2022 U/s.429/120(B)/34 IPC r/w. Sec. 11 Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960 r/w. 192(A) MV Act. Investigation is on.
As some cows were found to be sick/ injured, veterinary doctor/ staff were called. Some injured/ sick cows are being treated by Govt veterinary doctor.
