Two arrested for Stealing Solar Panels in Ganjam Police District

Khallikote,(Ganjam):Police arrested two miscreants on the charge of stealing seven numbers solar panels and were recovered with grass and leafs inside a farm-house.
The police seized solar panels worth over Rs.2.5 lakh and seized Seven number of Solar Panels of dimension 196 cm x 99 cm each, Make: “WAAREE” bearing unique barcode numbers: WSO4169000467877, WSO4169000467690, WSO4169000467729, WSO4169000467720, WSO4169000467710, WSO4169000467835, WSO4169000467830 and One Red Colour Auto from their possession.
The accused duo identified as.Salu Das(22), S/O Satyanarayan Das of village Keshapur, PS: Khallikote, Dist: Ganjam and Bijesh Mantri(24), S/O Bhaskar Mantri of village Keshapur, PS: Khallikote, Dist: Ganjam.
Acting on the police input, IIC ,Khallikote and his team while they startred their investigation,basis on the CCTV footage which revealed that a Red Colour Piagio Goods Carrier Auto with label Maa Tarini Bharasa and Jay Shree Ram at the upper and lower portion of the wind shield respectively had entered Patharakata at about 12.30 AM on dt 26.07.2023 and returned within 15 minutes with some solar Panels loaded in its carrier and two persons were sitting inside the cabin and two persons were sitting on the Carrier of the said Auto.
On such footage, a Red Colour Piagio Goods Carrier with label Maa Tarini Bharasa and Jay Shree Ram at the upper and lower portion of the wind shield respectively bearing Regd No OD02Z5979 was found along with its driver.
During interorigation , the Auto Driver namely Salu Das confessed his guilt in presence of witnesses, while in custody and led to discovery of the seven numbers of stolen solar Panels in the firm house of one Sagar Behera, S/O Bhagaban Behera of village Keshapur, which is located on the way between village Fasidi and Keshapur.
The seven numbers of stolen solar Panels were recovered with grass and leafs inside a farm-house.
The unique barcode number on the Solar Panels matched with that written in the FIR. Hence, the Solar Panels are seized in presence of witnesses.
In connection Khallikote Police Station registered a case 2023 U/S 379 IPC,further investigation is going on in the case.
