Twins’ from Jajpur will represent Odisha National Chess Competition

Jajpur:Sreeyansh & Priyansh, the twin sons of Mrutyunjay Das and Mansi Das of Barabati village under Rasulpur block of Jajpur district have secured first and second Position in under-14 chess tournament and have been selected to represent Odisha in the prestigious National chess competition which is to be held on 16th of this month.
Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the tournament was held in a virtual manner and the duo were able to beat 48 contestants thereby introducing Jajpur to the world arena.As per information Sreeyansh & Priyansh have already represented India in various international tournaments. They have also won the numerous medals for India by participating in many prestigious tournaments such as the world chess tournament which was held in Mongolia in the year 2016 as well as in the Asian championship in Tashkent in last 2017.Towards suchtype of great feats, they not only have brought laurels to themselves and the nation but also have brought their family and loved ones immensely proud. However, the family’s financial constraints are proving to be a big hurdle for the two talented boys to join chess and move forward in their respective sport. Participating and training in various national and international tournaments are proving to be very costly for them which unable to meet as per their conditions.
Mansi Das, the mother of the duo has expressed in a grievously manner that despite repeated appeals to the administration, they are not able to get any aid or resources from them due to which the future of the two budding chess champions seems to be thrown into the dark. While on the other side , Mrutyunjay Das , the father of the duo said that if the two brothers are properly trained by the government then they will definitely win medals for India in the world chess championship.
Towards these achievement,Anwesan Theatre group of Jajpur have conveyed their wishes to the both and their parents also . The theatre group through out News demanded the State Government and the district administration to provide the assistance to these talented hidden for why they will further go ahead .
