TRIBUTE TO ACTOR AJIT DAS PERFORMED BY DAUGHTER

BHUBANESWAR:The last rites of Odia film industry veteran actor Ajit Das was performed at Satya Nagar crematorium here today adhering COVID-19 guidelines.
Das was given Guard oh Honour and later his daughter performed the last rites and lit the father’s funeral pyre.
Das who died at the age of 71 years was undergoing treatment at a Bhubaneswar based private hospital after he was tested positive for COVID-19.
Born on January 20, 1949 in Mayurbhanj district, Das had started his journey in 1976 as an antagonist in the movie Sindura Bindu.
He has worked in dozens of movies and was also the former Head of the Department of Drama at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. The actor was last seen in Arindam-Elina starrer movie ‘Ishq Punithare’.
