Tribals Gheraoed,Dared, Destroyed at Adava Police Station on False Arrest of Ganza Don

Paralakhemundi:Irrate villagers barged into Adava police station in Gajapati district, heckled the personnel and ransacked the office premises alleging that a youth had been illegally arrested on Tuesday morning.
Tension prevailed as the mob chased the police officials who beat a hasty retreat.
The villagers said police reached Jharanapur village under Chadangapur panchayat on Monday in connection with a raid on alleged ganja traders. Unable to trace any such traders, they, however, brought in a youth of the village for questioning.
As the information spread, local sarpanch Sebati reached the police station with a large number of villagers. While she was holding discussions with the cops, the villagers barged into the police station alleging the youth had been tortured.
Incidentally, the inspector in charge was on leave. Around eight cops were present at the police station. Before they could realise the gravity of the situation, the mob thrashed them and ransacked the police station. Later, they sat on dharna demanding the release of the youth.
Senior police officers from Paralakhemundi led by SDPO RK Pati rushed to the spot.
Though damage caused by the mob was not yet ascertained, at least eight cops were injured while files, furniture and a police vehicle were reportedly damaged.
According to report from ground zero that,under Adava police station a false case intimidated on a tribal person. Named Biswanath Bhuyan of Jharanpur was taken to police custody for ganza smuggling & transportation.
On their version false case labelled on Biswanath on transportation of 207 kgs of ganza. Complained on false allegations against him villagers of 6 panchayats eg, Antaraba, Chudangpur, Guluba, Kesariguda, Birikote, Badasindhaba more than 100 tribal men & women gheraoed & dared to ransack Adava police station. At 8am morning they gathered and attacked staff of Adava police station.
As a result 8 staff injured. Meanwhile they dared to enter into police station and destroyed all equipments & furnitures. With fear police staff whisked away from police station. Immediately SP Gajapati Jayram Satpathy, Sub Collector Alok Kumar Pradhan, SDPO RUdayagiri Dilip Kumar Nayak, IIC Mohana Sujit Kumar Nayak, AP President GTRao, Vice Chairperson of Mohana Balmina Adhikari, Sarpanch of Guluba Sebati Gamango, Samiti Member Hemant Gamango, Mosa Majhi, Tribal leader Abraham Gamango, Thupil Gamango, Danial Gamango, Simiya Gamango, Hadiya Kandha with various PRI members had a meeting. Tuesday evening a peace committee formed by the administration and assured within 7 days at SP/SDPO office a solution will be hopeful.
Those injured staff SI Laxman Besra, Jayakrushna Panigrahi, Hrushikesh Panda with his 2 sons & wife, constable Rajib Sabar, Satikant Nayak, Havildar Sribacha Raita, Nimai Charan Sahu, Constable SKPanigrahi, Sepoy Aurabindo Parida, Pabitra Nayak are injured.
