TRAP CASE AGAINST MEMBER OF VANA SURAKSHYA SIMITI BY SAMBALPUR VIGILANCE

SAMBALPUR:The Vigilance wing Sambalpur has registered a case against Smt. Madhusmita Mohapatra, W/o Sri Subash Satpathy, of Gandhi Chowk, Bargarh, at present working as Forest Guard-cum-Member Secretary, Beherani Basa V.S.S.(Vana Surakshya Samiti) under Forest Range, Sambalpur Sadar, at Jujumura, Sambalpur for demanding bribe of Rs.36,000/- from the Complainant Parsuram Mirdha, Vill-Beherani Basa, Sambalpur (Treasurer) of the V.S.S. for processing of bills, vouchers, Muster Rolls etc.in connection with construction of V.S.S. Building and execution of plantation works in Village Beberani Basa by the members of the V.S.S. under O.F.S.D.P. (Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project-I&II) Scheme.
During investigation, a trap was laid on Tuesday and accused Madhusmira Mohapatra, Forest Guard-cum-Member Secretary, Bahareni Basa V.S.S. was caught red handed by the Vigilance team while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.36,000/- from the Complainant Parsuram Mirdha.
The tainted bribe money of Rs.36,000/- has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused Sri Moharana in presence of witnesses.
The office room of the accused Smt. Mohapatra, Forest Guard and her rented residential house at Sambalpur town are being search on D.A. angle. The accused Smt. Mohaptra, Forest Guard-cum-Member Secretary, Beherani Basa V.S.S. under Forest Range, Sambalpur Sadar, at Jujumura, Dist-Sambalpur has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
