Training of Enumerators for the Baseline Survey of Mining Affected People in Sundargarh Started

SUNDARGARH: Hemgir training of surveyors for the baseline household survey of the mining affected people started here in Sundargarh district. With support of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Sundargarh, Youth for Social Development (YSD), an expert organization in local grass root participatory planning and development, has started this initiative to conduct baseline survey of 38,000 mining affected households of 29 Gram Panchayats of 6 blocks (Hemgir, Koida, Lahunipada, Rajgangpur, Kuarmunda and Kutra) of the district.

The ABDO of Hemgir Jitendra Munda and CDPO Mrs. Aparna Mallick has inaugurated the training session and encouraged the enumerators for quality information collection from the households. Dr. Sita Sekhar and Mr. Alfred Mohanty of Youth for Social Development detail about the technicalities of the survey and brief the questionnaire. Bibhu Prasad Sahu, Secretary, YSD has also present as an expert to train the enumerators.Sudeep Chakrabarty of YSD has coordinated the training programme. The baseline survey will be conducted through a mobile based application. This training has been simultaneously being organized in four different blocks Hamgir, Koida, Lahunipada, Rajgangpur by two other NGOs Sarda and Niyatee Foundation. The enumerators will collect the data in the coming 3 months.
