Train Tragedy: Naveen Patnaik announces Rs.5 lakh ex-gratia for victims, free bus service to Kolkata

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday announced ex-gratia for the victims of the Bahanaga train tragedy. The assistance will be given from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

The next of the kin of the deceased will get an assistance of Rs.5 lakh and those who sustained serious injuries will get Rs.1 lakh as assistance. The Chief Minister has also conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved families and wishes speedy recovery of the injured.

Victims of Friday’s train tragedy are undergoing treatment in various government and private hospitals between Bhubaneswar and Balasore.

Meanwhile, the State Government has announced free bus service to Kolkata from Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack from today. In view of disruption of normal train services to Kolkata caused by Bahanaga train tragedy, people are facing lot of difficulties in reaching Kolkata.

Keeping in view the greater benefit of the commuters, the Chief Minister has announced the arrangement which will continue till restoration of normal train services on the route. The entire cost will be met from the CMRF.
