Launches 55th National Safety Month across Southern Odisha

Berhampur, March: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) celebrated Lineman Diwas, honouring the dedication, courage and service of its frontline workforce. The occasion also marked the inauguration of the 55th National Safety Day and the launch of National Safety Month initiatives across its operational areas.

Linemen from various divisions of participated in the programme with pride and enthusiasm. The highlight of the event was the felicitation of around 75 linemen whose commitment ensures safe, reliable and resilient power supply across the region. Working in harsh weather, remote terrains and time-bound situations, they continue to embody the true spirit of service.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, appreciated the relentless efforts of the field teams. He said, “Our linemen are the backbone of the organisation. They work in challenging conditions to keep power supply uninterrupted. Their dedication and discipline keep the network strong. Safety must always remain our top priority. Every employee should return home safely.” He also reiterated TPSODL’s Zero Harm Mission, emphasising that safety is not merely a rulebook, but a shared responsibility.

The event featured the administration of a safety oath, reaffirming collective commitment to strict adherence to safety protocols. A specially curated video showcasing the journey, challenges and achievements of linemen was screened, followed by interactions where field staff shared their experiences from the ground.

Aligned with this year’s theme, “Engage, Educate and Empower People to Enhance Safety,” TPSODL announced a series of safety competitions and awareness activities to be conducted throughout the month. Similar programmes are planned across all six circles to ensure wider participation and reinforce a strong safety culture across the organisation.
