Thunderstorms Hit many Major Places in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Many of the major districts experienced with thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon onwards.

The twin cities of Cuttack,Bhubaneswar,Berhampur,Rayagada experienced strong winds, lightening and winds blowing at a speed of 50/60 kmph lashed the major cities Bhubaneswar,Puri,Cuttack and Berhampur accompanied by heavey rain.

The cities were under the shade of thick dark clouds and water logging was seen in some parts of the cities. The rain bought a sigh of relief to the residents of the cities from the sizzling temperature that used to fluctuate every day.

According to Metrological department, Moderate thunderstorm accompanied with squall wind speed reaching 50/60 kmph, lightning and light to moderate rain likely to affect some parts of the districts;Nuapada, Nabarangpur,Kalahandi,Rayagada,Ganjam,Gajapati,Nayagarh,Dhenkanal,Jajpur,Jagatsinghpur,Bhadrak,Balasore,Mayurbhanj,Keonjhar,Puri,Angul,Deogarh, Balangir,Bargarh, khurda and Cuttack including Bhubaneswar.

Much before the people of the areas have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly.
