Three Vanik Coaching Staff Summoned in SI Recruitment Scam
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Crime Branch has issued notices to three staff members of the Vanik Coaching Centre in connection with the Police SI recruitment scam.
The HR Manager, Admin Manager, and Accounts Head have been asked to appear at the Crime Branch headquarters in Cuttack at 11.00 am on Friday.
This action follows a raid at the coaching centre on Thursday. According to DSP Narendra Kumar Behera, the raid was based on information given by some of the 114 candidates already arrested in the case.
During questioning, 12 of the arrested candidates admitted to links with Vanik. Of them, six were confirmed to be students of the centre.
The Crime Branch believes a larger syndicate is behind the scam. Sources say original certificates and blank cheques were used in illegal deals, and tutors from multiple coaching centres may be involved.
