THE POLICE ARE BURDENED BY HEAVY WORKLOADS
Odishabarta News
Berhampur/Bhubaneswar:( 14/06/25):Police misconduct, at police stations including rough behaviour, can persist even after government changes due to a complex interplay of factors, including ingrained organizational culture, systemic issues, in our observation they have not yet free from “MO Sarkar ( 5T )” work culture, the old pattern tendency/hangover. In district Top officers, Inspectors level at thanna the dealing to the public nothing major eye catching after change of Mohan Government.
It may be underlined we are writing neither we are against to police nor pro to any political party but we better understand additionally, who is accountability ( ?) PUBLIC/POLICE) because government means they have ample power once means for five year
The police are often burdened by heavy workloads and inadequate resources, which can lead to frustration and potentially influence their interactions with the public but the new government the day will come the govt.will accountable to the public unless they reforms the policing systems.
PROPER RESPONS;
Always Peoples expectation is high especially in rural belt.
Probably they frustrated with 24 years with their mindset for a changes.(?).
But our study report was that over expectations from Police after the government changes with different taste they needs for respect from Police.
During sept,2024Odisha CM Mohan Majhi asks Police to behave well to all those approaching Thana for justice, asked Police to behave well to the complainants coming to the police station.
He asked to file an FIR and discuss the incident with him. The CM instructed this and asked the Police DG to take action if this gets violated in any police station.
The police are there to serve the common people. When a complainant comes to the police station, they should offer tea and water and listen to the complainants with respect.
MEDIA;
The relationship between the police and the media is a complex one, characterized by both collaboration and potential conflict. Both institutions play vital roles in a democratic society, with the media informing the public and the police serving to maintain order and safety. However, differing priorities and potential for misunderstanding can create tension first to media .media may be targeted if the police officer vindictive because media Cannot overwrite/modify ,affect series of sections BNS of their mercy but media do have only their strength of Pen, Key Pad.
Areas of Cooperation;
Informing the Public:- The media relies on the police for information regarding crime, public safety, Senior Citizen safety & Security, issues, and police activities. This information, their access helps the public stay informed and aware of potential risk more so reports indicate that some journalists n Odisha are facing difficulties in receiving prompt and adequate responses from police stations. Specifically, there have been instances where journalists have been assaulted while investigating stories and they have reportedly encountered delays or resistance when reporting these incidents to the police. Additionally, concerns have been raised about the safety of journalists in Odisha, especially those reporting on sensitive topics like corruption and other irregularities. Lets look back jail with false case.
