The first day of Shutdown in Sundergarh Dist. after Covid Cases Surge

ROURKELA: A shut down is announced in districts of Odisha including Sundergarh district after Covid cases surged dramatically to a higher level. For the first time after Covid had impacted last year Pan India, Sundergarh district two days before got the highest Covid positive figure in Odisha to more than 600 and it has been consistently hitting the number of 500plus for last few days.

This has alarmed the entire district and Rourkela Steel Township is the worst hit.  For the cause yesterday two areas, i.e Sector -20 and sector -1  have declared micro containment Zone by the RMC, Commissioner ,Dibyajyoti Parida.

Hence, all vehicular movement and entry is prohibited and due service like groceries, vegetable and medicines will be provide by RSP management with team decided to render such services.  Amid the surge of Covid case, Chief Secretary, Odisha had visited Sundergarh districts and monitored the entire situation and gave permission to few hospitals to operate as Covid hospitals.

Among them the newly build super Specialist hospital constructed by central Govt. and SAIL was also declared to be used as Covid hospital where every facilities including 60 bedded ICU beds are available. More testing centers have been opened to provide the required service looking at Covid cases which mounting day by day. Today is the first day of Shut down after a longtime, which is observing by the localities of Rourkela with all due respect and administration is all strict on the issue and closely monitoring public movement and becoming strict on those who are violating Covid guidelines.

Last few day RMC officials are also keeping strict eyes on shops and business houses who are not abiding Covid laws and many shops have been sealed and penalized for non-adherence of covid guidelines issued by the competent authorities. This is the time take the thing seriously by everyone to contain Covid spread and maintain all restrain and should go for Covid test when they have symptoms of Covid, as advised by doctors been publicizing by the district administration from time to time. Covid war is ahead and to fight this war and to win the war is vested on us, hence, a clear determination is required with a disciplined lifestyle.
