Teen Girl Gangraped in Jagatsinghpur; One Arrested

Jagatsinghpur: Police in Jagatsinghpur have arrested one person in connection with the alleged gangrape of an 18-year-old girl in the Chandagarh area of the district.

The horrific incident occurred on Monday night when the victim, returning home from a friend’s birthday party with another friend and her mother, was reportedly intercepted and kidnapped by a group of miscreants to an isolated spot where she was sexually assaulted.

The victim managed to escape and reached home in a critical condition, subsequently fainting. She was immediately rushed to the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Her father has since filed a written complaint, prompting prompt police action.

Jagatsinghpur’s Superintendent of Police (SP) and the local MLA visited the survivor at the hospital, assuring a swift arrest of all involved.

Three special teams have been formed, and search operations are underway across multiple locations to apprehend the remaining absconding accused. One of the accused was nabbed from Cuttack.
