Teachers in Gajapati Suspended After Schoolyard Scuffle
Paralakhemundi: In what might be a groundbreaking addition to the curriculum, three teachers from Upper Primary School in Machamara, Gajapati district, decided to ditch textbooks and opt for real-life demonstrations of a group clash.
Headmaster Prafulla Rath, along with teachers B Rajasekharan and S Jaya Rao, were suspended after their minor disagreement quickly escalated into a full-blown violent clash on the campus.
Apparently, two teachers had a “small argument”, but soon their loyal “group members” joined in to make it a blockbuster brawl. As fists flew and tempers soared, stunned parents rushed in, not to watch the fun, but to lock the school doors and stage a protest demanding accountability. The Block Education Officer (BEO), playing the much-needed referee, suspended all three and summoned them to sit in his office until further notice.
While teachers are expected to guide children on conflict resolution, this trio decided to lead by the worst example. Thankfully, the locals cheered the BEO for stepping in before the syllabus included “Combat Training 101.”
