SURYA NAGAR AREA IN BHUBANESWAR SEALED FOR CONTACT TRACING OF 5TH COVID-19 PATIENT

BHUBANESWAR,02/04/20:Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary announced that Surya Nagar area in Odisha capital has been sealed after the fifth COVID-19 positive patient was traced to the area who had no domestic or international travel history.

While revealing the identity of the patient, Chaudhary said that the identity of the patient has been published with an intention to safeguard the public who have come in contact with him since March 1, 2020. The fifth COVID-19 patient is Pradipta Kumar Dalabehera, a resident of ward no 46, Surya Nagar, Bhubaneswar. He has no travel history, not even outside the State.

Chaudhary further said action will be taken against those who do any kind of social discrimination against the family of the fifth COVID-19 patient.

Meanwhile, the BMC officials sealed the entry and exit points of the Surya Nagar area. Official sources said that the area will be sanitized and it will be ensured that the basic availability of the services are not affected.

Gopabandhu Square to LIC square, LIC square to Ganga nagar Square, Ganga Nagar to Siripur Chhak and Siripur to Gopabandhu Chhak have been notified as restricted zones.
