Sujeet Kumar Joins BJP After Resigning from Rajya Sabha
New Delhi: Sujeet Kumar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) soon after resigning from his Rajya Sabha membership on Friday.
Earlier, the BJD expelled Sujeet Kumar soon after he resigned from the Rajya Sabha membership.
He joined the BJP in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, BJP Odisha In-Charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, and other dignitaries.
“Today, I Have resigned from the Rajya Sabha membership. I was honoured to be elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2020 representing BJD. My gratitude goes to the former Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, for this opportunity. Joining a significant national party today fills me with joy. The vision for a Vikshit Bharat and Odisha has been a great inspiration. I extend my congratulations to the entire BJP team,” stated Sujeet Kumar.
Additionally, Sujeet Kumar expressed, “My commitment is to a ‘nation-first’ policy. Having spent considerable time abroad, my focus has been to serve the KBK region and the nation. Consequently, I resigned from BJD due to the lack of expected development in Kalahandi, which I attribute to the corruption among the district’s BJD leadership and external influences. Despite efforts to alert the senior leaders, it proved futile.”
