Student succumbed to stabbing in broad daylight: Swift detection of the case by police

Rayagada, December 16: On last Friday at about 1PM complainant Pradeep Kumar Kolaka(32) S/o-Krushna Kolaka are of Vill-Khilmishguda, PS-Seshkhal, Dist-Rayagada reported regarding murder of his brother Pramod Kumar Kolaka(21) S/o-Bala Kolaka of Vill-Khilmisguda, PS-Seshkhal, Dist-Rayagada at women’s college lane, Rayagada near Majhigouri Mandap, Goutam Nagar, Rayagada.
During investigation it was found that deceased Pramod Kumar Kolaka was in love relationship with the sister of prime accused Dipan Kumar Himirika. Both Pramod and sister of Dipan had decided to marry against the decision of family members. Besides, there was chronic dispute between the families of Dipan Kumar Himirika and deceased Pramod Kuman Kolaka. Dipan Kumar Himirka had many times asked the deceased to stay apart from his sister. Deceased Pramod was studying in +3 3rd year arts at Rayagada Autonomous college and staying in a rented house with his classmates, whereas sister of Dipan has been continuing her graduation at Women’s College, Rayagada. It was a matter of respect for accused Dipan Kumar Himirika as his enemy was in love relationship with his sister. Hence, he decided to kill Pramod and joined hands with two of his friends namely Arya @ Murali Kondagori and Raju @ Hemanta Jilakara. Both Arya @ Murali Kondagori and Raju @ Hemanta Jilakara were also staying at Rayagada and working in motorcycle garage.
On last Friday, while Pramod Kumar Kolaka was plying through one scooty with the daughter of his maternal uncle towards Women’s College side, accused persons detained him near Majhi Gouri Mandap, Goutam Nagar and accused Dipan stabbed with a sharp knife on the chest of the deceased due to which he succumbed to injuries at the spot. Later all accused persons fled away from the spot through one one Suzuki Access scooty bearing Regd. No. OD 10 S 8779 of accused Raju @ Hemanta Jilakara.
All three accused persons namely Dipan Kumar Himirika(26) S/o-Mina Rao Himirika, Arya @ Murali Kondagori(24) S/o-Devi Kondagori & Raju @ Hemanta Jilakara(24) S/o-Aruna Jilakara, all of Vill-Khilmishguda, PS-Seshkhal, Dist-Rayagada have been arrested in Rayagada PS Case No.388 U/s 302/34 IPC and they confessed their guilt for their involvement in committing murder of Pramod Kumar Kolaka.
The weapon of offence i.e. one folded knife stained with blood and used vehicle has been seized from the respective accused persons. However, the investigation is continuing and involvement of any other accused persons is under verification.
However, the deceased’s maternal uncle Gangadhar Puala, who was Ex-Zilla Parishad Chairman of Rayagada, said that his nephew received death threats from the primary accused a few days back and a political angle to the murder can not be ruled out.
