Stray Dog Hacked with Sword in Berhampur, Shocking CCTV Footage Surfaces
Berhampur: A disturbing case of animal cruelty has emerged from Berhampur in Odisha’s Ganjam district, where a group of miscreants was caught on CCTV attacking a stray dog with a sword. The brutal incident took place around 4 AM on Sunday in Lane 7 of Gandhi Nagar.
According to CCTV footage, the assailants, riding a scooter and armed with swords, were approached by the stray—possibly expecting food. Instead, two of them got off the vehicle and repeatedly stabbed the dog, leaving it grievously injured. The terrified animal was seen trying to escape as the attackers chased it away.
The shocking act has sparked widespread outrage among animal rights activists and locals, who have questioned why the miscreants were carrying swords at that hour and whether they had any ulterior motives. Authorities have yet to take action against the perpetrators.
