STF,Odisha Apprehended Two Criminals With Illegal Fire Arms

Bhubaneswar:Basing on intelligence input regarding illegal possession/sale of illegal fire arms by veteran criminals, STF apprehended two criminals namely Butu @ Basanta Moharana of Ranapur Dist. Nayagarh and Jaga @ Jagan @ Krushna Chandra Srichandan of Khordha Town on 17.07.2021 near village Siko under Jankia P.S. and seized 5 Nos of pistol/revolver, 5 Nos. of SBML gun, 8 rounds of live ammunitions, one empty cartridge, one motorcycle and other incriminating materials from their possession. In this connection STF P.S.Case No.24, dt.17.07.2021, U/s.25/27 Arms Act has been registered and is being investigated. The above noted accused persons were involved in multiple cases of various districts.
This is worth to mention that since 2020, drive against illegal arms & ammunitions have been conducted, STF has alone seized as many as 47 nos fire arms, 84 live ammunitions and arrested several criminals.
