STF, Odisha Crackdown Sand Mafia Gang

Bhubaneswar: Odisha, STF (CB), official continuing their crackdown against the notorious sand mafia operating in the river belt the STF wing of Crime Branch, Odisha have conducted a raid on the river bed of IB under Bhasma Police station limit on Thursday about extracting of huge quantity of sand illegally by a group of sand mafia, as a result of which 09 persons were apprehended.
The official has seized 06 numbers of Hyvas loaded with sands and 02 numbers of proclins were seized from the spot. The proclaims were engaged for loading of sands in the Hyvas.
According to STF official they could not able to produce any valid documents or authority in support of lifting and transportation of sand from the river bed.
The accused persons were carrying on the illegal activities since long without any authority or documents causing huge loss to the Govt. exchequer.
In connection a case has been registered at Bhasma Police Station for necessary legal action.
This refers to Bhasma Police Station Case No.48/2021 U/s 379/411/413/120(B) IPC r/w. 51 OMMCR Rules-2016. Investigation is on.
