BERHAMPUR:The state government has also announced the removal of railways and bus transport from the exempted category. These services have been completely blocked in Odisha. In a bid to arrest the spread of novel coronavirus, Odisha government on Monday announced lockdown in all 30 districts and over crore people in Odisha are under lockdown.

Today following a instruction Ganjam district administration has adopted an innovative way to ensure people maintain social distancing when they go for essential purchases during lockdown. Now, the shop owners selling essential commodities like grocery items, milk and medicines will have to draw circles outside their stores with each shape placed a few feet from each other.The customers need to stand inside the circles and wait for their turn to buy basic supplies.

Pinak Mishra, SP, Berhampur, informed, the Digapahandi police has tried in few places on Tuesday. “I also request you all Media person to impress upon your nearby grocery shop or vegetable vendor to do the same themselves. We all have to come forward”, SP, Mishra.

Today BeMC has guided a shopkeeper in Lanjipalli area  on how to draw circles in front of his store and ensure social distancing as people queue up to buy and stock up on essential items during the lockdown.

According to Source, Collector Ganjam Vijay Amruta Kulage said,”Any person found violating containment norms shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of Indian Penal Code”.

Under violating the circle guide line Krishna Chandra Medical Store at courtpetta has been sealed by district Administration for not following social distancing norms. A case u/a 188 also lodged at BN Pur Police Station.
