Srimandir Parikrama “ARPAN” Rath (Chariot ) Begin in Berhampur

Berhampur: Only few days left for inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama, several arpan rathas (chariots) were launched across Ganjam,in Odisha which begin from Satourady for collection of white rice and betel nut from the households.
Today morning the “ARPAN” Chariot too begin in Berhampur from Berhampur Municipal Corportation in presence of Chandrasekhar Sahu, M.P,(L.S), Bikram Panda,MLA,Berhampur-cum-Chaiarman Ganjam district planning board,Dr.RC chyupatnaik,Member,state Planning,Board,Ms.Sangamitra Dalei,Mayor,Berhampur, Vivek Reddy,Deputy-Mayor,Subash Moharana,Chairmanof State Cashew Corportation,BeMC,Commissioner,J.Sonal,IAS,Corporators,a staff members of BeMC and many eminent persons,Media were present on the innaugouration and “Pujan” of the function.The arpan rathas flagged off by,MP,MLA,Mayor and Commissioner of BeMC.
According to J.Sonal,Commissioner, the Parikrama Chariot will move door –to-door tp collect the holy articles(white rice and betel nut) which will be consecrated at the Srimandir for the inaugural ceremony of Srimandir Parikrama project on January 17.
Notably, the arpan rathas launched on today of all waord under Berhampur Municpall area and chants of ‘Haribol’ and ‘Jai Jagannath’.
The chariots containing a big pot and a container will be used for storing the arpan. Meanwhile, sankirtan mandalis will lead the procession of arpan collection and visit the houses to collect the items.
The holy items, after collection will be deposited before January 15 and to submitt to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration..
