Spurious Gutkha Khaini Continuous Unabated

Berhampur: Tightening the noose around the necks of the illegal tobacco producers in the ‘Silk City’, Berhampur Police busted huge quantum ofillegal Gutkha Khaini godown busted by Bada Bazar Police under Berhampur police district and arrested one person.
Acting upon a tip-off on Wednesday at 02.30 PM, a team of Bada Bazar Police conducted raids at Old Berhampur area and seized huge cache of gutha along with other items used in manufacturing it.
According to ASP, Prabhat Routray,on Wednesday at 2.30 P.M the Case was registered on receipt of the information of SI Arjun Jena and Badabazar PS team regarding detection of one illegally procured, storage and selling of Gutkha, Tobacco leaf and other banned Gutkha products by stockist Pankaj Choudhury of Old Berhampur.
During raid and search of the godown house of Pankaj Choudhury, the police team found Gokul Delux Mix 16 cartoons, Shivaji Mawa Masala Mis 02 Cartoons,Patti (Tobacco leaves) 15 Bags.,Dilbag (Patti) (Tobacco leaves)- 4 bags.,Chandrama Khaini- 20 small packets, Sun Brand Khaini- 40 small Packets,Swagat Gold Tobacco- 30 small Packets, Rocket Royal Brand (Tobacco) Kahini 20 small packets and Hit Tobacco 20 small packets.
On the process of verification of the godown house ascertained the owner trading and storing and continuing his business of such large quantity of Tobacco and its products without any licence or authority. In this connection Bada Bazar PS case no 161/2021 is registered and investigation of the case is continuing. The accused Pankaj Choudhury is detained he added.
