SPINY GOURD IS RESOURCE OF LIVELIHOODS FOR DEOJHARANA VILLAGERS OF DEOGARH DIST.

DEOGARH:When farming desert without any innovations there stands credibilities for few farmers who stand as emerging at Deogarh district of Riamalo block, a village named Deojharana under Kundheigola panchayat, where a model farmer called as “Murali Bhai” by all and he is an inspiration for all.
Along with him there are 55 families are living in that village. They mostly cultivate spiny gourd which is called “KANKAD” vegetable in Odia language.80% of cultivations with better earning come from this vegetables.KVK (Krushi Vigyan Kendra) also coordinating with them. They too supply to nearest districts like Angul,Dhenkanal also transport massively to coastal districts.
A discipline village where all families have toilets.Village looks neat & clean. Villagers have unity & integrity too.
They have spiritual consciousness & a group performing various plays & cultural arts. They also lacked pure drinking water but after visit of Chief Engineer of RD that problem solved. A video also documented by Doordarshan for their emerging rise of livelihoods. Murali Bhai, Says “We are better off with such cultivations and our discipline also more incredible part to strengthen our unity”.
