Speaker,Odisha Legislative Assembly calls for all-party meet

BHUBANESWAR:Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surya Narayan Patro today called for an all-party meeting on November 18 ahead of the winter session.
“An all-party meeting has been called on November 18 to ensure smooth functioning of the House,” said Patro to media persons.
The Winter session of Odisha Assembly that begins from November 20 will have four & half business hours daily and will continue upto December 31 following Covid guidelines.
The first day sitting will begin at 11 am and the lunch break will be at 1.30 pm. The afternoon sitting will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm every day. However, from second day onwards the first sitting will begin at 10.30 am and continue till 1 pm.As per the schedule supplementary budget will be presented on November 20th and there will be no Question Hour during the session.
On October 6, the monsoon session of the assembly was adjourned one day ahead of its scheduled date of closure. It was scheduled to conclude on October 7th.The session was held amidst strict Covid-19 measures. There was no Question Hour during the session for the first time in view of Covid-19 pandemic.
However, answers to 898 written questions were laid on the table of the assembly. Three adjournment motions were discussed during the session.
