SP, Directed – We Proceed; Sadar Police Seized Ganja and arrested 3 Mafias’

BERHAMPUR: Police have seized over 83 kg of Ganja, from a auto in Berhampur and arrested three persons in connection with the case, an official said on Friday.
On direct supervision of SP, Berhampur, Mr.Pinak Mishra, acting on a tip-off, a team of Sadar Police Station while conducting the routine MV checking on Thursday at around 3 PM at village Masihakhali they detected one auto bearing number OD 07L 5988 carrying contraband Ganja weighing over 82.080 KGs., The team confirmed from the Mafias’ that they are carrying Ganja for disposal to a vendor (!).
In connection the team of Sadar PS have arrested a gang of Drug Mafia. They were identified as Santosh Kumar Khatei (32) of village Polasara,S Prasad Rao @ Prema (26) of Haladiapadara under Golanthara Police station and Arun Kumar Nanda (50) of Parsuram Nagar 2nd lane PS B.N pur police limit of Berhampur.
Police have recovered the Ganja and seized the auto used for transportation. In this connection Sadar PS case no 85 dated 25.03.21 u/s 20(b) (ii) (c) /25 NDPS act has been registered and the accused persons have been forwarded to the court today. The investigation is on . Effort is being made to trace the racket involved in drug trafficking.
