4.15 lakh snatching case solved by Nimakhandi PS, Complainant himself took the money and enacted fake story, arrested
BERHAMPUR,(25/04/25): On 22.04.2025 at 02.10 PM one Ashok Kumar Panigrahi (43yr) S/O-Bhagaban Panigrahi of village Gandala appeared at Nimakhandi PS and alleged that on 22.04.2025at 12.00 Noon he came to his business merchant and traders and took Cash Rs. 415620 /- to deposit the amount in his village bank.
When he reached Marthapalli Chak two unknown persons wearing helmet snatched his bag by attacking him.
One of them broke the mobile complainant at spot. They came to Marthapali chak in a Pulsar without number plate. Sub Inspector Gyana Ranjan Behera is the investigation officer of the case.
After thorough interrogation of the IO, verification of CCTVs and repeated interrogation of people near the spot and the complainant himself and when his stories didn’t match , on 24.04.2025 at 10.00 AM complainant finally revealed that he has stolen the money himself and has kept all the stolen cash in his second house at Gandala.
He lost a lot of money while constructing his house for which he had taken loan also. People gave money to complainant repeatedly reached his house.
Hence he got this opportunity while he was given this task of depositing the collection money to the bank.
Ashok Kumar Panigrahi doing jaggery business with arjun trader. Complainant brings jaggery and gets money after sell them. Arjun trader gave him the money to deposit the cash in his wife account MAA TARATARINI LAGHU UDYOG and then sent it through RTGS. So, Ashok Kumar Panigrahi take those cash.
Police have seized with Fully recovered of Cash Rs. 415620/-
Ashok Kumar Panigrahi is liable U/S -316(3) BNS as he criminal breach of trust by carrier. IO arrested the accused person on 24.04.2025 and forwarded him today.
