Sector-3 Police arrested the killer snatcher in connection to Meenakshi Dhar’s death

ROURKELA: Meenekashi Dhar the famous anchor of the city who had expired on 21st of May in JP Hospital due to an accident she met in Koelnagar area on 12th while she was returning to her home a snatcher tried to snatch the vanity bag and she fell down from the scooty and injured her head. Injury was internal and after undergoing an operation in JP she could survive for a week time and finally breather her last on 21st.
A strong dissatisfaction was there from all corners against the police because the culprit till the time of death was not arrested and there was a hug challenge for Sector-3 police who was investigating the matter. Finally they succeeded to nab the culprit through getting some clue from cctv footage near the accident locality. The accused Satyajit Swain@lipun(22) S/o Daitari Swain of House no A/2 Municipality quarter, Shaktinagar, PS-Sector-3 was arrested by the police and have recovered one OPPO phone which belongs to the deceased Late.Meenakshi Dhar and a bike which was stolen by his friend, Deepk Sahu(24) of Malgodown area, PS- Uditnagar, Rourkela.
The accused who arrested is a regular offender and been involved in six cases including the current one registered in different police stations. He has been forwarded to the court by the police. This arrest has given some relief to the family members and the well wishers of the deceased but a strong demand from everyone is to punish the culprit heavily so that others should not dare to do this type of crime in future.
