Santrupt Mishra and Datteswar Hota File Rajya Sabha Nominations

Bhubaneswar,( 05/03/26):BJD candidate Santrupt Mishra and common candidate Dr Datteswar Hota filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Bhubaneswar.
Santrupt Mishra submitted three sets of nomination papers as the official BJD candidate. Dr Datteswar Hota filed his nomination with the support of Congress and BJD, marking a significant political alignment.
BJD Chief Naveen Patnaik welcomed both candidates and said time will decide the future course. He emphasised unity and expressed confidence in their contribution to Odisha. Santrupt Mishra remarked that politics has no permanent enemies and acknowledged the democratic right of independent candidates like Dilip Ray to contest.
OPCC president Bhakta Das described Hota’s candidature as a historic step, highlighting the joint support from three parties. He said the move reflects Naveen Patnaik’s call for unity among progressive forces.
The nomination room witnessed the presence of BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, PCC chief Bhakta Das, Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra, and several BJD MLAs. Their attendance underscored the importance of the filings and the broader political cooperation.
