Row of Mamita Murder: Gobinda aide Radhe arrested

Bhawanipatna: Balangir police on Thursday arrested Radhe, a close associate of Gobinda Sahu, and forwarded him to court. The police have taken Gobinda Sahu on five-day remand for further interrogation and find out the involvement of any other person in the murder of the lady teacher.

In another development the Kalahandi SP Sarvana Vivek on Thursday suspended Kegaon police station inspector in-charge Damu Parija on the charge of dereliction of duty in refusing the FIR on the abduction of lady teacher Mamita Meher, who was later murdered and her body was burnt and buried inside a stadium at Mahaling in Kalahandi district on October 8.

The parents of Mamita Meher had approached the IIC on October 12 to accept the FIR on the missing of their daughter. The IIC refused to register it. The IIC is the fourth police personnel to be suspended in the sensational murder of the school teacher. Earlier, three security guards of Titlagarh police barrack were placed under suspension for negligence of duty when prime accused in Mamita murder case Gobinda Sahu escaped from police custody on October 17.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Bikash Parishad (BBP), a social organisation, has move the Orissa High Court seeking a CBI probe into the murder of Mamita Meher and a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to her family.
