ROURKELA ADMINISTRATION DECLARED TRAVEL HISTORY OF TWO COVID-19 POSITIVE PATIENTS

ROURKELA: World Health Organization is always saying, to control corona, ‘testing’ is all important than other measures we undertake and unfortunately India was lacking that few days back but the scenario has changed. The situation in Rourkela has become grave after two people were found covid positive in Bisra. The en tire areas of ‘Asiana Colony’ in Bisra, have been sealed under containment guidelines including other four areas, said ,Collector of Sundergarh in a press conference organized in the conference hall, RMC, Rourekla.
One of the patient’s ages in 67 and the others is 18. Both are the native of Bisra area and few days back this old man had visited Nizamuddin the most discussed place in a Jammat. Bothe of these patients was in quarantine and at that time the test was found negative but when they were tested again, they found positive. Now the administration is on full swing to trace the people who were in contacts with them. The 18 year boy who was found positive he had returned from Jajpur. Under containment, an area within 3 kms is cordoned off by the police. Three platoons of police have been deployed in the area. None is allowed either to come in or to go out. A team of doctors are visiting home to home with other health workers like Anganwadi workers, ANM, ASHA workers etc.
To facilitate sample collection, Rourkela ADM has taken steps to install one sample collection booth in the area where people don’t need to go outside. All the frontline medical workers engaged in doing their duty are provided with adequate number of 3 layers N95 masks, globes and hand sanitizers to take all precautions whole rendering their service. There are more than 1500 families are staying in this locality. For every 50 houses one officer is appointed to monitor.Sudhanshu Bhoi of RMC is appointed as Nodal officer and will be looking after sanitation and supported by Bisikeshan Pandey, Tahasildar.
For Health related support Dr. Prakash, Medical Superintendent, Bisra is given the responsibility. For coming 48 hours including today all relevant tests will be conducted. Four RRT (Rapid Respond Team) is kept ready to guide treat and to refer. Today the DGP, Abhaya had visited Bisra area and other sensitive areas in Rourkela, taking stock of situation during lockdown and issues relating police administration. As everybody knows, corona is the biggest threat for the entire world and India is catching up new cases everyday with a great speed, hence, testing and social distancing is the key to have control on spreading this dangerous virus.
