Role of Media Personnel is Crucial in Creating Awareness among the People,Mangaraj

Bhubaneswar: The annual issue of Bhubaneswar Journalist Association’s “Bhubaneswar Bartajibi” was launched on a virtual mode on Sunday.
Inaugurating the magazine, State Government’s media adviser Manas Mangaraj said the role of media personnel is crucial in creating awareness among the people on corona pandemic. Twenty-five media persons have lost their lives following the second wave of coronavirus. Odisha Government has declared working journalists as frontline Covid warriors. Compassionate assistance of Rs 15 lakh to working journalists who die due to corona infection has also been announced. After Odisha Government announced journalists as frontline workers, they are getting priority in Covid vaccination programme. Mangaraj advised the media personnel to take extra care and follow Covid protocols while performing their duties. The event was presided over by Bhubaneswar Journalist Association president Pratap Chandra Pradhan and coordinated by Utkal Journalist Association State president Bibhuti Bhushan Kar.
State treasurer Rajen Choudhury, Bhubaneswar Journalist Association vice-president Gagan Swain, general secretary Laxmikant Das, organising secretary Jeetendra Mohanty, Nrusingh Mohapatra, Jeetendra Sahu, Manoj Pradhan, Mamali Bebarta, Pradeep Baisakh, Suresh Swain, national council member Muralidhar Samal, State executive member Bijay Sais, Dayanand Khadanga and several media personnel from different districts participated. The members observed two-minute silence in memory of journalists who lost their lives due to Covid.
